Get Diane von Furstenberg’s Spring 2011 Beauty Look
Diane von Furstenberg’s spring collection had plenty of the signature looks—bold prints, vivid colors—that fans have come to know and love, so it is no surprise to hear von Furstenberg referenced 1970s glamour for her beauty look—after all, it is one of her longstanding sources of inspiration. For further details, read on!
Lead makeup artist James Kaliardos created a lip look inspired by “a Warhol silk-screened lip.” (Fun fact: one of Andy Warhol’s most famous portraits is of Diane von Furstenberg.) To get the look, Kaliardos used MAC’s Chromagraphic Pencil in Process Magenta, followed by an application of MAC’s Neon Pigment in Magenta Madness. As for the face and eyes, Kaliardos kept them bare, save for a dab of MAC Cream Color Base in Pearl.
Lead hair stylist Orlando Pita wanted a “street” look for the hair, so she created a smart-yet-scruffy bun. To get the look, Pita sprayed the tip of a brush with T3 Control Hairspray, which she then raked through the hair before pulling it back into a bun.
